September 07 fire！Hi, Today is not a good day. Dad went to Michigan again. Scott High where Carol teaches caught on fire in the gym although it was raining all day in Toledo today. Carol said that the fire took place in the gym in 3 pm and cause a real riot and 15 students were arrested by the local police. Scott high is a public high school. That is fine, do not worry. Central gave us a rehearse of fire emergency last week. I will have a wonderful weekend. I want to inform you that I got a high gpa here which will really help a lot. have to leave the photo for tomorrow since my camera is charging now. September 03 Corn MazeHi,
I took part in the Corn Maze in White house today. It is a maze, or labyrinth which looks like a big butterfly surrounded by man-height corn with a total distance of 8 miles. Although our Central team composed by Tom and I and several Senior girls didn't win the prize which is a big Xmas Tree, we really had fun. I also visited the Battlefield monument. Pitifuly, I forgot to take picture of the maze. It is just fabulous with several helicopters flying above. New week will begin tomorrow, I will do my best. American kids drive since they are 15, today Tom drove me home. No worries, He is an excellent driver. He has been driving for 3 years with a total distance of 60000 miles so cool! Stop here.

811 September 02 My WeekendsI had a fun weekends. I went out shopping, and cooked Chinese courses such ar tomatos, eggplants chops meatballs soup and fried rice. What a dinner! They were all extraodinarily dilicious! I have photos of them, and probably show you later. I also took some photos of my school. I mowed the lawns today and painted the front yard which I have never do before. Interesting. tomorrow,I am going out to Whitehouse (in ohio, not in washington) with friends for a Corn Race. Actually I do not know what it is but I am sure that I will have fun. The weather is so good these days! I love the weather here. ok Time to sleep@!

Have you heard of Beowulf? I am studying Beowulf in Brit Lit these days. It is about a Hero that killed monster, a long epic. Beowulf is the first hero in the world. As the Geats and the Danes got together to fight Grendel and the Troll Wife. Beowulf started his hitorical life. Unarmed, killed the Grendel that had been attacking the Herot for 12 years. Finally, Beowulf died when fighting with the Fire Dragon. Of course, it took me lots of time to understand the epic. I took the quiz on Beowulf todaywhch turned out to be not too hard. I like Mrs Hartford , my Brit lit teacher who is an interesting lovely lady. Tomorrow is Hawaiian day which means that we are out of dress code. Students may wear what they like tomorrow. How r u? I change my class today and tomorrow i'm going to study Spanish 1 instead of Spanish 2. Phil talked to me yesterday about my Spanish. I am not able to study Spanish 2 without Studying Spanish 1, because there are lots of work that I have to do. I am not able to spend lots of time on Spanish two so that Phil suggested me to take Spanish 1 which is more basic. I have to improve my english and do well in history, so changing my course is a wise decision we considered. I am beginning to study Spanish 1 tomorrow still with Phil. I am just perfect these days. I find myself improve a great deal in English. 811August 28 ok dayit is Tuesday. i am on the regular schedule. I got 74 a B in Spanish which is not too bad for me because I have not studied it before. I am going to take quiz American history exams on Friday and Brit Lit on Thursday. I hate it very much. Then I will have a 3 days off. Do you know Beowulf ? That is the Brit Lit poem I am learning these days. Really hard. Physics exam is on Friday. Today is hot and I had an ok day. I play chess everyday after school from 3;30 TO 4;30 with Grick. He taught me chess since he wanted me to join their team. I think in a week I can beat him though i am a green hand. How are you?

How are you guys these days. I got my second quiz today which is in the most advanced AP Calculas class. Dear Mrs Greager gave us a quiz on trigonometry, and not surprisingly, I got 100. I was told that by phil when having dinner which is meat roll that is much like "wan Zi" in Chinese. It is pretty good. The first test is on Spanish, which is hard for me. I did my best to remember those words but they are just to hard to be recited. That is fine, don't worry since phil can teach me at home.
I am sorry that I am just lazy the last two days so i didn't put anything on the space. Today I amgoing to put on some photos.

Do you have a nice day? I had a wonderful weekend. I went to a Chinese grocery store in Toledo. That is a big grocery store. I bought vinegar as well as soy sauce. There is a storm today. It is terrible. The weather was so good and clear, when Carol and I went out for a shopping. the mother of Grick told me that there was going to be a storm when he picked up Grick from school. That is the first time I heard of it. Then we just go to KMart and Groger grocery and phamacy store. When we reached there, everybody was talking about the storm. It suddenly got dark outside. With screamings the storm really came. At first, Carol and I don't believe there was a storm, but the weather turned out to be awful. It rained cats and dogs. We were in the market and the storm went over in 30 minutes. I regretted that I didn't take my camera with me or I would take a lot of beautiful photos.
I have some photos of this week including the dumplings I made. They were very delicious!

Everybody is nice in America. Don't be shy, Americans would always say Hello to you. You can make good friends with them. This is the most important point. Your class should be really easy for you if you spend time on them. I am taking the hardest classes in my school by I cannot find them any difficult. Please learn to write good articles, that will really help you in the future. I don't know if I am going to apply for the school you mentioned. I need sometime to make that decision. Also, don't be afraid to ask teacher questions, my teachers are all happy to help me. Do not be afraid of making mistakes. Please study some useful school words. I am going to list some, please check the meaning yourselves if you do not know the words.

contract August 22 hot dayI know that it is very hot in Beijing, it is still hot right here. It has been raining for 3 days since I come to Toledo, but it stopped today and became extremely humid and hot. 90F is the highest degree of the day. It is cool inside houses or buildings. I found sth today that 2/3 of the high school students drive to CCHS. The huge parking area (over 500 parking lot) is full during school time. I seldomsee anybody while walking in the streets since people are all inside cars. The price of GAS is about 3 Bucks per Gallon much higher than that in BJ. It says that there is flood in OHIO these days. Many places in South of OHIO is under water because they had weeks of dogs and cats rains. It is ok here because we cannot even feel them. Floods only affects small regions.

811 August 21 American CHEAP foodHi,
I am not going to tell you about my school today. I just want to mention it in here that American students study much more than Chinese do. They have important tests that stress them out. They also study lots of things that are not in tests. They have to care a lot about their daily work since GPA is the most important thing that colleges prefer instead of SAT or ACT. American students are really tired. I am very OK since I do my work efficiently. Don't worry about me. I am going to talk about American food. one character is that they are unimaginable cheap. 1 Buck (dollar) is totally enough for a coke a hamburger and 300g meat. Every fast food place including Mc Donalds, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Popeyes, Pizza hut, burgyking， there are lots of different kinds. Every thing here is almost at the same price as things in China if we get them into the same kind of money. My spend won't be to much. American foods taste well and that is why American love to eat them and get fat.

I had the first school day already. Although it is just an introduction but I really find sth. First class is Spanish, Phil is a good teacher. his class is just easy. Then Ap Calculas, Miss Erin is that teacher who is a beautiful young woman. She is very nice just more than I can think of it. Boys do not like math, in AP Calculas, girls to a majority ,a great majority 0f 4B to about 20G. After this class, It comes the Amer His (American History),the teacher is An old lady, she is nice. Then we have conference that we hear the news of the whole school. Later on it is Physics. I have an amazing Physics teacher, a clever guy that I will have a great time with. Then it comes the Brit Lit/compo which is very helpful for my English. Finally I have that Religious class,I donot like it so much. I might have computer Programming sometime but i just forget which is the smallest class that i ever had with aroud 5 students. we have 50 mins a class and 4 mins a break. This is horrible that I even do not have time for wash room but that is okay since we can ask for permission to go to the bathroom during the class. I will right stop here and say mor tomorrow. I saw Jeanne today who was very nice. We sent Mr Shi to the Megabus stop in the morning and arrived home in the afternoon. I bought 2 pair of shoes and a shirt for the School's dress code by my credit card successfully at schoolbells. Then we had Jeanne at home. She told me that she got 1 German 1 Russia and 2 Chinese in this area this year. She is going to get us together one day and have a party. We had traditional American food through the days.
They are just OKAY.
one thing that I found through their talk is that they are really fond of Danny the Korean Student that they hosted before me for 3 years. Carol is into Chinese so much that there are things around the house that have Chinese characters. She told me a lot about what she knew about China.
Tommorrow is the first school day and I hope I could do a better job in having more friends.
By the way, Phil told me that there is another Chinese student in CCHS, I might see him the next day.

811 Dying CityHi,
Today is not very tiring. I leave from Libertyville ( right between Chicago and Milwaukee) form the Union Station by a county train. It was fun. The Union station is in the center of the Chicago City under the Sears Tower which was once the tallest in the world. It is now replaced by some other buildings in Asia. We climb up from the train station to the bus station where we stop in the bus for almost an hour as there is something wrong with the luggage door of the Megabus. Oh! I found the Megabus the cheapest transportation in America. Then after a 4 hours trip we arrive in Toledo at last. Toledo time is actually the reserve of that in BJ. We saw the Kellys who picked us up from the bus station. Phil Kelly told us that there were once a million in the properous city of Toledo which used to serve as a significant harbour when he was young. Now there are less than 300 thousands here. It used to be a place where many big companies settled down but none are left here. Most of them went bankrupting and the importance of the city decreased at a high speed that Chicago and Detroit surpass it. It is very sad that Toledo is still dying. But it is a beautiful city clean and tidy.
I would like to tell more about Central Catholic and Host Family tommorrow.

811 August 17 Gainful dayHi,
It is a gainful day today. We went to Northwestern University in Chicago which was beautiful, near the Michigan Lake. We traveled around in the Campus. Photos cannot be sent to you now since my camera wire is still in the big suitcase. I will show them when in Toledo. We went to Lake Forest Academy which is one of the best private high schools in this area. We had a campus tour in LFA which is much like a University and a garden, which means that it contains the best facilities as those in University with few students and beautiful sceneries. There is a small lake and a endless forest that surround the main buildings. There are several Chinese in the school. More challenging, I went back to the school for a second time in the day for an interview as I talked with the head admission officer and wrote a composition to show my English level. He told me to choose one of the five different level composition to create in 20 minutes. I think that I did my best. Even More surprising, the head admission officer (Adam Gerber) knew the RDFZ in Beijing. He knew well about the Chinese education and the visa circumstances.
We did several other things today including saving my extra money and get my account. wE BOUGHT THINGS THAT i MIGHT NEED EXAMPLE: alcohol, stockings. We also buy several books , 1 for sat, 1 for ACT, 1 for PSAT and a dictionary.
The end of the day. It was cool here and I can't feel any hot or cold. I love it.
I have packaged my cases and fully prepared for Toledo. Time for bed!

Don't care too much about me. I'm Okay. Mrs Guo cooked an amazing meal for me and after that Mr Shi took me to the cinema with Debby (Shi Dingyi). Mr Shi said that I was lucky as I got in the business class which is very confortable. I just watched two movies , had two flight meal , with a 4 hours sleep then I arrived. My flight arrives a bit earlier than I was supposed to. It is very clean and beautiful here. I live in the house which is in a town near Chicago. It is very quiet. Mr Shi has two cats which are energetic and a little bit shy. They are good and quiet. I just forgot their name. I would send you the photos as soon as I connect my laptop with my camera Including the community and the second largest O Hare Airport in the world. That's it and I'm gonna sleep.
