October 30 Petro TimeHi,
Yeah! After Conference I got Physics class(include lunch). 4th period is always 50 minutes whatever the schedule we are on due to lunch. I have a B lunch which means that I am taking physics for 25 minutes and then go to lunch and continue the other 25 minutes after meal. Mike Petro is the physics teacher and the coolest guy in Central. He is energetic, enthusiastic He is the chief teacher of student council, physics club and pep rallies. Everybody likes Petro! Physics class is not hard for me as I have studied most of the contents before, but it told to be the hardest class, even harder than AP Calculus. One reason is that Petro never asks people to do physics work,. If someone doesn't do a lot of practise, then it is hard to get good grades in tests. I am the only exception. Petro is always busy so that I am becoming a substitute physics teacher for most of my Seniors friends and classmats.
811. October 27 Team tournamentHi,
I was playing a chess tournament today. It was a team tournament with 4 players each team. We won 3 matches with 3:1, 3:1,2.5:1.5,and tied two games at 2:2.(one player win a board is 1 point, draw is 0.5 point, lose is 0.) We have a final match score of 4(win a match is 1, draw is 0.5). We got the second place, and Saint Francis got the first place. The also scored 4 match scores but they have 0.5 more board score than we do as they win3 games all by 3:1. I got 4 games out of five which was brilliant. The only lose game was to the weakest one of them all as I almost got him into checkmate but I put my Queen to a wrong square and he got me a free queen. It is not fun to be down by a queen but I almost got it back later. At the very end game, I was a rook a bishop VS his queen only, but he keep on checking me with queen and finally got my king into the corner. Then there was no way for me to win. I performed pretty good in the other 4 games. After that I drove back home. I enjoyed it!

811 October 26 continue..Hi,
As Phil talked about where I would like to be next year, I really need to think of this. Phil says that it is always no problem for me to come back to Central for another year. That will be fine but that is not my favorite idea but this save a year of study. Most of the best students in Cenrtral will go to several top colleges in thi area such as University of Michigan or Michigan State University (ranked about 50) in the US. Some go to Pennsylvania State University( good University). As I am dreaming of going to good colleges, so I want to go to a good high school. I need to think about those and chat with Phil these days. 811 70 daysHi,
Everything goes just fine these days. It has been over 70 days since I arrivied in the US. I had to say that I was an amazing experience that would influence me in my entire life. I have friends and family in both countries now. I can speak two languages fluently although the progress of my English is not as marvellous as I was thinking . My native language is deeply engraved so that I will not forget it in my life. Now I can play good basketball, as I can also play good chess. I learned a lot about the religious(Catholic) as well as British great Literature and American History. I do learn some calculus as I never know before which is hard to believe. I am doing several science projects this year as it is what Science Olympiad Club all about. I will master driving this year and get my license. I also learned some other practise skills suck as wood work, mowing the lawns, painting etc. I realised that I am fond of my food as I really make delicious food. I am very healthy and never get sick. Everything goes just great!

As I said I took part in the Science Olympaid Club this year. It is a team work with about 15 students. A team is going to compete with other schools on 24 projects in total on May !st next year. Mrs Florence is our coach, and Abby is our captain. I hope I can do well this year as Central has been the Champion for several years. We did not have 15 people yet so we need to recruit( the major job this month). We also need to raise money for the club as the cost of projects. I do not know what I am going to do yet, but one thing for sure is that I am doing something I am fond of. I enjoy this kind of clubs.

811 October 24 High Way DrivingHi,
Phil took me to high way driving today. I was doing aa good job today. I can drive straight on a high way, make smooth turns and stop at will now. I am very proud of myself since it was only the second time that I was on the driving room of a vehicle. His trunk was really good. I concentrated on driving as I was told. Now I have a 2.5hrs driving record(with 1 hour night driving) now. I need 50hrs record(with at least 10 hrs night driving & 20 hrs driving courses driving) to be able to take tests in April 2008.
I am not busy at all this week. I can spend sometime on my vocabularies.

811 October 23 Tiring QB Game!Hi,
Several things took place these days. Yesterday our brandy cat died who was 16 years old. Carol was very sad, but Phil didnot like the cat very much. We are going to bury her tomorrow in the backyard. I played Quiz Bowl in Maumee yesterday(Toledo City League) we lost both games with BGHS and Maumee High. We lost Maumee by 480:520 which was very close. Today, we played in Lake League again as we lost Findlay but beat Whitmer, Whitmer 2 and TSA. That was a good result. I am very tired because we had QB for the two days.
I drove with Phil yesterday as I can drove forwad and stop smoothly now. Phil told me that I was much better than Danny or Young or David in the first time driving. Now I have one hour night-driving record. Happy and satisfied, I finished my driving experience. I enjoy it very much!

811 October 20 CENTRAL's 3rd straight City League Champions!Hi,
We had a big game yesterday at Whitmer(7win-1 lose). Central Irish(6win-2 lose) beat the Whitmer by 1 single point in the overtime. It was very exciting to achieve a final touch down in the last second and win by 24 to 23 in the overtime to run in the first place(Central7-2, Whitmer7-2(but lose central) ) in the Toledo City League! Although it was chilly outside yesterday, but everybody was so happy. Central will play at Waite with the winless Waite high school(0win-9lose) next week. If they made the next game, then they will win the City League again. I am very proud of them although I do not play football.
Today, I went to the license office again and was glad to be told that I can renew my license if I come but within 6 months before my old license expires(as my visa expires, the license expires).
In the afternoon, Carol and I took the dogs to the doctors, but Alice ran away when we were trying to get her into the car. I gave big dog to Carol and began chasing Alice. You guess what, I finally caught up with Alice after several blocks and got her back. Carol was very please with me. She told me that once she lost both dogs and finally they were found 10 miles away after 6 hrs. They are evil dogs that always want to go out.
Yeah! You guys have fun!

I will start tutoring as my CIA(Christian In Action) job next Thursday. They finally admitted that I am more than qualified to handle this job(After all I am the best students in maths in the entire school !!!) I become a little bit nervous. I ran into Coach Patterson today and he doesn't look good. Hope he will get better soon.

Everybody can check my grades. I am sure that I got straight A this quarter, but the exact grade can not be assured before Friday. I am quite used to life here now. I have some more important things to do next Quarter. I can not let my grades drop. I have lots of activities in the coming Quarter incuding sports and matches. Then I also plan to get prepared for and finished the important tests such as ssat and toefl ibt. OK, new quarter will begin tomorrow.

We have been studying King Arthur for a months in Brit Lit and I took the final test of King Arthur today which was not as hard as Arthur. We watched the Excailbur Movie, read the Green Kinghts, Mist of Avalon about Arthur. Although Arthur is just a myth but it is really attractive although the Excailbur movie was not that good. I heard that the new Beowulf movie is coming out in November, I hope that they can have a better movie for Excalibur too.
I went to the Quiz Bowl match today. We won 3 games and lost BGHS. It was not bad. Phil was a little concern about if we can make the tournament of the Maumee League this year, but he is not anymore since we do not have a chance at all(BGHS and Finley are weigh stronger than our team). We hope that we can make the Toledo League to get to the tournament. Chess is much more optimistic and possibly we won't lose a game this year. Chess matches won't begin in 2 weeks.

811 October 15 HiHi everyone,
It is the time of the end of the quarter. Tomorrow will be the last day off this quarter. I took 4 tests today, the maths exam made me quite happy as I have chance to get better grades than Megan does. Megan is a very nice girl who takes extremely hard classes(5 AP classes). She gets 100+ in every class she takes which is incredible. She even had better grade than me in maths(as once I lost 2 points in a group activities in which my groupmates messed up the graph, so that I suffered). It is not true any more. We had a harder Calculus test today in which she made a mistake. Actually it is very stupid to think it any delightful, but i did. Megan is Tom Dever's girl friend. Tom Dever is one of my Quiz bowl teammate. He is not that hardworking. He probably only has an average of C. Most American boys do not have good grades as girls do which happens quite possibly all around the world.
By the way, I find Last.fm is really good, which Scott told me long before.
811 October 14 Chess TournamentHi,
I had an extremely busy weekend. Not only because Ihad 4 big tests on Monday, but also because I went to the chess tournament which last for 13 hrs yesterday.
I am going to talk about the chess tournament today. I really did a good job yesterday. I played 4 games, 2 black in the first 2 rounds, and 2 white in the other 2 rounds. I won both black games and lost the white games. The first game was against a kid. He was a knight ahead of me during the game since I lost a knight at the very beginning. It seemed that I was about to lose the first game, he made a serios mistake, he gave me a free bishop. Then he just messed up and give me a chance to put him into a rook checkmate.
Then I played Ding a ABC(American Born Chinese) who has been playing chess for 5 years. He is 16 and he attends school in Perrysburg (Half way Between Toledo and Bowling Green), he is first board player in his school. He was the only one who beat Ryan(our first board) last year in high school matches. The game was quite even in which we traded both knights and Queen in the first 10 moves. I was very delighted that he traded the Queen with me because I do not use Queen good enough. Then he tried to trap my bishop, but he failed and I successfully rescued my bishop and got a free porn from him. With this porn I got a Queen finally and put him into the checkmate. This was a tiring game, we both used up all the time. Ryan was very surprised that I could beat Ding.
The Third game is my worst game, The one I was playing with was father of the kids in the first game. He catched my rook with his bishop at the beginning which was not even. Then he got far ahead and I could not do anything about it. This game lasts only 25 minutes.
Final game was against a Freshman in high school from London,Canada. It was an even game. At the very end, his knight check me at the same time threatened my rook, then he trade my rook with his knight. The game become a knight 4 porns VS a rook 3 porns, obviously I would lose.
At least I had a lot of fun.
I studied really hard today for the tests and hope I can get good grades.
October 11 降温了！Hi,
这周还真是的，好事不多，考试挺多，有好几个超烦的作业还得交上去，哎，没辙了，加油吧，过了下周就没事了。数学历史已经结束了！！这周不知怎么搞得，温度变化好奇怪。周一还30多度，今天就只有5度了，好凉。听说去年10月这里还下过暴风雪，-15度最高气温。希望今年不要这样。哎，恨死降温了。周末有象棋锦标，牛刀小试一下吧。我这个星期不知道怎么搞得，一直没时间去篮球训练，总有这样那样的事，真是烦死人了。希望教练别开我。。明天不管怎么着我也得去训练了，很快又比赛了嘛。秋天好漂亮，尤其是这边好多百年巨树，叶子颜色各不相同，我好喜欢这个景致。

We are approaching the end of first quarter Next tuesday. Therefore, we will have lots of tesets these days. I am very busy studying for exams. I got good grades and I do not want them to drop. Yesterday was my second quiz bowl match. We revenged on TSA as 22 to 21 yesterday,and also beat another team which was weak. (Last week we lost TSA by 8 points). We lost the other two strongest team in the Maumee League, BGHS(Bowling Green high school) and Findley. Actually, Central used to be the top team. Since all the players were graduated last year, and Phil almost failed to recruit anybody, we no longer are a tough team anymore. We also did pretty good job in the two lost games.We lost BGHS by 3 points and kept leading the game against Findley for the whole first half. That was an acceptable result, as Phil took me to red robbins for a big meal. I ate a monster hamburger which was great.

88 October 08 Columbus DayHello,
How are you doing? Your Natonal Day vacation was over but I am enjoying my Columbus Day holiday now. There will be a lot of tests coming this week so I am busy with them now. I watched several movies this weekends in my spare time and I really did enjoyed them. I do not have any problem watching English movies without subtitle now which is one thing I am very proud of. I watched National treasure which was about the Declaration of Independence, flightplan about a huge airplane, Independence Day about aliens, Catch that kids about the three kids "bankrobbers". I played basketball in our backgym today. That was my 3 days weekend when I did have fun.

811 October 07 Chicago trip III (pictures)Hi,
Tomorrow will be Monday, but I do not need to go to school due to
our marvelous performance last week. Also, it will be Columbus Day
tomorrow.
My Chicago trip was last week but i still found it a lot of fun.
On Sunday, I got up at around 7. We had a great lunch made Mrs Shi.
Then Mr Shi took us around. We went to see a St Mary College and
visited the beautiful campus and church inside. Then we went to the
Lake Michigan. By the lake we can see Chicago although it was quite a
distance from us. What a fascinating lake! 20% of the fresh water in
the whole world is stored here in the Great Lakes. After that we went
to the park in Libertyville and Chinese buffet for lunch. Then we took
the train back to Union Station in the afternoon. Finally we took the
bus back home. We really enjoyed it.

811 October 05 Discovery DaysHi
This is thr end of the discovery day which last for 4 days in the week. During the Four tiring days, we had 8 pep rally which is not my favorite but is quite noisy and enthusiastic. The main idea of discovery days in for 8 grades students to come in and see what a high school is like. They would take several classes with us. 8-grade kids were so cute. They all were very upset and shy to join our classes. We also did a lot of work for the discovery days which is very significant to private high schools.As we really did a great job, the principal decided to give us next Monday's off。 YEAH！！I appreciate it! I will have a lot of fun and least i can have a good rest.
Discovery PEP Rally was a lot of fun. Mr Mike Petro(our phisics teacher who is both kind and enthusiastic) was the dj. Cheerleaders and dance team performed pretty great on every pep.
